From Pebbledash to Polished – A Modern Makeover in Drimnagh
- Year : 2024
- Client : Drimnagh Home
- External INsulation
- Location : Drimnagh, Dublin
Project Overview
In early 2024, we transformed a tired, pebbledashed semi-detached home in Drimnagh into a bright, energy-efficient haven. The client wanted to reduce heating bills, modernise the home’s look, and take full advantage of the SEAI external insulation grant. We handled the full external wrap and gave the home a fresh new identity with a striking yellow render finish—turning heads in the neighbourhood.
The original façade was heavy pebbledash, common in many Dublin homes, but a real challenge when it comes to getting a clean base for external insulation. The client also needed guidance navigating grant paperwork and choosing a colour that would stand out without looking out of place.
We stripped back the pebbledash and prepped the substrate to ensure solid adhesion. Using our certified external insulation system and experience with Dublin housing stock, we delivered a seamless installation. For the finish, the client went with a bold yellow KABE render—durable, breathable, and visually stunning. We managed the SEAI grant process, ensuring the homeowner could focus on enjoying the transformation without the red tape.
